Float or Sink

As part of a science project Class 1d were busy this week building boats.

First the children experimented with various materials to find out whether they would sink or float. They then had to make a boat which would carry Jolly-John the pirate and his treasure across the water from one island to another.

We had great fun and at the same time learned how changing the shape
of an object would make it float or sink.
